In the beginning of August, Nintendo had announced that the famous Mario Kart was coming to the app store for both iOS and Android users on September 25th. Many people pre-downloaded the game.

September 25th finally arrived, and many app holders were excited that the wait was finally over. As they opened up the app for the first time, they found that the game was down.  Many people were so upset and other people simply did not care.

“I wasn’t upset that I had to wait a little longer to play the game. It just made me more anxious to play the game,” said Eileen Romero.

Mario Kart features many of the karts, characters, and race tracks seen in Mario Kart 8. In order to steer or drift, you can swipe either left or right. If you want to take out an opponent, you can throw items at them by swiping up or down.

Compared to older versions of the Mario Kart game, steering is a little different, but you do have the option to change the control settings to your likings in the game settings.

“The steering is honestly really annoying it’s hard to control. I get pressed sometimes because I feel like the game glitches,” said Veronica Flores.

You can play free for all with bots on the app or you can share your  game code, found in your settings, and play with family and friends.

“I honestly really love playing this game against all my friends it gets so competitive,” Eileen Romero.

Personally, I am not a big fan of this game, I still prefer the old version with controllers. In my opinion, this game is over hyped and many things should be fixed such as the steering settings. Overall I rate this game a 5 out of 10.

It never hurts to try new things. The new Mario Kart game is free, check it out and see what all the hype is about.
