Many teens nowadays are struggling with anxiety, especially right now. We all deal with it in different ways, but one thing I think we can all agree on that helps us is music. No matter the style or genre, music on its own tends to calm people. Now imagine if there was a type of music specifically written to help calm your anxiety. Psychedelicmike is a SoundCloud/Spotify artist whose music is naturally calming.

When I heard about this artist, I raced to my Spotify app and started listening right away. And I have to say, I owe whoever it was that told me to listen to him a MASSIVE thank you.

My favorite song of his is called “esoteric.” Like all of his other songs, there are no lyrics, just music. Something about the chord progressions he puts together and the way he records them is just soothing. Whenever I’m stressed out I just pop in my AirPods and shuffle his music in the background of whatever’s going on. It calms me down and helps me focus.

So trust me, I’ve been telling anyone who will listen about this guy. I asked a few of my friends to listen and tell me one of their favorite songs, and what they liked about it.

Connor Bigby likes the track “are you really though?” He says it feels “wavy” and “puts you in a good mood.” Maddie Roese likes “oblivion” because the “intro is super cool” and it “lightened [her] mood.”

Most of the people I talked to told me the same thing. The music put them in a good mood. In fact, I’m listening to it while writing this article. His music has positive effects on me that I didn’t know music could even have. It’s almost mesmerizing. Psychedelicmike on Spotify or Soundcloud. You won’t regret it.
